And cookmora is my little corner of the internet!
I'm the voice, author, and creator behind cookmora. What started in 2015 while I was working as a graphic designer in Austin, Texas, has turned into a full‑time food blog that now reaches about 45,000 readers each month. I launched the site in March 2016 after friends kept asking for the recipes I was sharing on Instagram. The first post was a simple lemon‑ricotta pancake that got more comments than I expected, and the rest just snowballed.
Since then I’ve added a weekly newsletter, a printable recipe index, and a small shop that sells my hand‑crafted spice blends. In 2022 cookmora was featured on the Food Network blog, and in 2023 I won the Asheville Culinary Contest with my roasted beet and goat‑cheese tart. Today the site hosts 250 tested recipes, and I’m proud that 12,000 subscribers open my emails every Thursday.
I live in Asheville, North Carolina, with my husband Mark and our two kids, Lily (9) and Noah (6). When I’m not in the kitchen I’m usually out on the Blue Ridge trail, tending to my herb garden, or digging through my dad’s old jazz vinyl collection. My favorite comfort foods are a bowl of pho on a rainy day, a fresh peach cobbler in summer, and a perfectly crisp sourdough toast with avocado.
Looking ahead, I’m planning a mini‑cookbook that focuses on meals you can make in under 30 minutes, and I hope to host a live cooking class on the first Saturday of every month. If you’ve ever wanted to swap a recipe or just say hi, drop me a line at hello@cookmora.com – I love hearing from fellow food lovers.
One of the things I cherish most is the community that has grown around cookmora. Over the past year, readers have submitted more than 150 variations of my chicken‑tortilla soup, and I feature a new “Fan Favorite” recipe on the homepage each month. Seeing how a simple dish can spark conversation makes every late‑night editing session worth it.
